This Mosque building in lower Manhattan is out of control. It seems now that the main investor in the mosque project, Hisham Elzanaty, has turned down an offer from Donald Trump which would have paid him 25% more than his initial investment. this would have made it possible for Elzanaty to recoup his investment and turn a profit which then in turn could allow him to build an even more spectacular Mosque somewhere else.
This is a classic example of cheap grab for attention. Elzanaty has now officially became the guy who wears a Heat jersey to an Indians game, or a Cubs fan who claps when Jim Thome hits a home run against the White Sox. Before, he could have been confused as a man trying to do the right thing in support of his beliefs, but now the right thing to do would be to take Trump’s offer because it would allow him to accomplish even more for his beliefs. But no, he still wants to be the pot stirrer, the guy who relishes in the attention he gets from intentionally inflicting grief upon others and then hiding under the veil of religion. Elzanaty isn’t a devout Muslim like he says, hes just an asshole.
