Chicago, IL- 48 year old Chicago native Rusty Jones was arrested Wednesday by Niles Police after allegations of sexual molestation brought forward by Jones’ niece. The one time rustproofing mogul has been mostly absent from the public eye since his company Rusty Jones, Inc. filed for bankruptcy in 1988. Since then, Jones has held a series of odd jobs to make ends meet, including stints as a small-time drug runner and floor manager of a Lombard area Hobby Lobby. Jones’ court date is set for June 27th, but concerns are slowly surfacing about finding appropriate jurors for the case.
Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez commented on the situation,
“It will be difficult to find unbiased juror’s for Mr. Jones’ case, considering many Chicagoland residents drove cars which were rustproofed by Rusty Jones Inc. during the late to mid 80′s, and most of those people suspect the rustproofing industry is a total scam, like undercoating.”
