I need to get out of my apartment building. Last night when I went to do a few loads of laundry, the person before me left an absolute mess in the only washer/dryer we have. I used some lost socks to clean up the coagulated detergent off the washer’s lid, then scraped the lint trap clean (which was filled with paper that must have been in their pocket, idiot) before starting my load.
When I came back to change loads I was a bit early, and the wash cycle was not finished. There I stood, staring aimlessly into the night air. My eyes wandered, looking at the hot water pipes as I heard the washer slowing down, which was making bird-like chirping sounds. I noticed 36 cents on the floor and picked it up from under lint and other peoples used dryer sheets.
