CHICAO- Trade talks are heating up on the Northside today.
Talks are swirling on a potential swap that would send Cubs young pitcher Jeff Samardzjia to the Chicago Bears for a player to be named later and cash considerations. The move would be the first cross sport trade of its kind.
Samzmnasartdzjia found success as a duel sport athlete at Notre Dame as a Wide Receiver on the football team and as a Pitcher on the baseball team. Much speculation surrounded Samklkajwnardzji’s decision to choose the NFL or MLB.
His recent performance in the Cubs opening game against Atlanta seems to have swayed the Cubs to ship the 6’5 righty to a place where he might be better utilized.
“Smardfllziaja is a quality young man. It is a tough situation. But, as it turns out, it works out perfectly. The Bears could use some Wide Receiver help and we just don’t want him on our team, ” new Cubs owner Tom Ricketts said.
When asked who the potential player to be named later might be: ” Well, I would love to shut up AJ and Ozzie on the Southside, so maybe someone who could really intimidate?” Ricketts joked. “No, but really, I don’t care who, I just don’t want Smmmjdakdiiakejjdisjai on this team.”
