This past in week in Alabama a high school student was suspended for wearing a dress that was deemed innapropriate to her senior prom. It was said that the dress violated the rules of having cleavage that fell below the breast line and also was cut higher than 6 inches off the knees. When interviewed, the school’s principal explained that these rules are there to “protect the children” and that they have their best interests in mind for the rulings. 17 other girls were cited for wearing dresses that were also in violation. The topic student chose to take the 3 day suspension from school, while the other 17 chose the alternate punishment- a paddling.
