Critics are having a hard time embracing Chris Brown’s most recent song lyrics on his hit song “transform ya.” The lyric in question is:
“Need a ride I can Range you up,
money i can change you up,
you can ride your own, no longer be the passenger,
swag low I build you up,
knees we can stand you up,Kick you in the face and bite your fucking nose off.”
Brown has gained recent notoriety after he violently attacked and injured his former girlfriend Rihanna after a domestic altercation.
“I know I’m just a music critic” Mark Wolicki of Rolling Stone Magazine says “but I just don’t know if the lyric “kick you in the face and bite your fucking nose off” is what Brown wants to be saying in his songs right now. I know he’s gotten past the whole Rihanna thing, but it still may be a little to soon to win over public opinion with those types of aggressive lyrics.
“Maybe it would be best for everyone if Brown just took a break from the spotlight and disappeared for a while. He’s really not doing himself any favors,” Says former SPIN magazine columnists Joel Stein. “I’ve met Chris Brown and he’s a decent guy, hell of a dancer, but history is probably not going to look favorably on him, I guess time will tell
