(Nuevo Laredo) Six American men were arrested trying to illegally cross the border into Mexico early Friday morning. Laredo authorities say this has been an increasingly opular trend as the American economy continues to deteriorate and more and more Americans are seeking opportunities and ways to improve their family’s lives.
Jon Morrane a former trader for Prudential Equity Group was among the men detained…”I used to have a great job,” Morrane said, “my family and I had three cars and I was sending my kids to private school, but these days its just tough to find work.” Mr. Morrane was attempting to find a job in Mexico as an economic analyst when the authorities arrested him.
Nuevo Laredo Mayor Ramón Garza told imgross.org that this is becoming a huge problem in Mexico. “Americans are coming down here and stealing our white collar jobs, they underbid our work force and steal the work right out from under them, its really harming our economy.”
American Mark Wohlicki recently got a job in Laredo as a forensic accountant for the La Costena food processing company. Wohlicki’s boss Jorge Manuela Diaz says “Mark is by far our best accountant, he went to the University of Chicago, and he’s willing to work for next to nothing!”
The six Americans arrested are currently in a Mexican jail awaiting their deportation back to the United Stat
