All of the sudden becoming a dj is the most popular job in America. It’s something like:
- Lawyer
- Teacher
- Carpenter
- DJ
These days it seems like every rich kid from Willamette is purchasing some DJ equipment on credit, dressing up in a wacky T shirt and a hip fedora, giving themselves a stupid moniker and referring to themselves as “an artist.” I’m not writing this article to discredit the profession of DJ, but I’m just saying that because you can match up some squiggly lines on a computer and seamlessly transition from Katy Perry to Fall Out Boy you are not automatically an artist. It seems like being a DJ is for all those kids who were too lazy to take the time to learn to read music and play an actual instrument. Obviously, some DJ’s out there are amazing, but these days it seems like there are more DJ’s for hire then lawyers. The market is totally saturated with under qualified, wannabe, losers.

if anyone is wondering where Willamette is, it’s in Salem, Oregon. If you are interested visit: http://www.willamette.edu/.
