William Atherton: Great Movie Prick

Walter Peck

William Atherton will go down as one of the best movie pricks of all time.  He got his start as a movie prick in “Ghostbusters” as EPA shithead Walter Peck.  “Yes, it’s true! This man has no dick!” says Dr. Peter Venkman.  Then he went on to be Val Kilmer’s nemisis Professor Jerry Hathaway in “Real Genius.”  Later in “Die Hard” and “Die Hard II” he played journalist Richard Thornburg.  Let’s face it, journalists are the scum of the Earth.  Finally, he put a damper on Paulie Shore and Stephen Baldwin’s hilarious hijinx in “Bio-Dome” as Dr. Noah Faulkner.  There are other actors that make a living as movie pricks, few can hold a candle to William Atherton.
