tuesday september 1st marked the day guitar hero 5 came out. the latest incarnation of the series features nirvana frontman kurt cobain as a playable avatar. working closely with cobain’s widow courtney love, users are now able to live vicariously through a dead guy that, if alive, would kill himself again after seeing his likeness being used for teens to play video games which glamorize rock stars.
