last friday as I walked to work, i walked by a big pack of dudes. you know the kind. the dudes that get all dressed up in their blue striped button downs, nice designer jeans, and loafers. they all came down from hoffman to the big city to have a sweet night for steve-o’s big 2-4. anyways, as i walked by them i heard an interesting soundbyte, one dude in the back of the pack goes “1817 baby!” The rest of dudes started cheering. I was running a bit late for work, so i walked by them pretty fast, that was all i heard. The four block walk to work gave some time to think about what they could have possibly been talking about.
could they have been talking about the year 1817? they most certainly were not talking about president martin van buren passing the erie canal bill on April 17, 1817. that would just be stupid. why would they get so excited for that?maybe they meant the dates 18th and 17th. they couldnt be talking about the asian youth energy summit held in singapore on september 17th and 18th, could they? that just doesnt make any sense. with like two blocks left, i decided i needed to take a different angle. how may first dates steve-o has taken to pf changs china bistro ? 18 and 17 amendments? why would these dudes care about electoral senate votes? maybe steve-o’s garage code? i got to work without an answer. the world may never know.
