Lonnie Jordan, lead singer of pop band War, announced that the band will not be stopping in the Gaza Strip on their tour this summer as originally planned. “I guess the name of the band was causing a lot of confusion. Apparently everybody, Palestinian or Israeli, kept saying, ‘War is coming, huh? Bring it on motherfucker.’ We just wanted to play ‘Why Can’t We Be Friends?’ and maybe do some good in the world.”
