The University of Chicago released a three year long study about the badness of LeRoy Brown. The shocking conclusion was that Jim Croce greatly overestimated his badness in his 1973 #1 single. Croce said, “The guy gets his ass kicked at the end of the song. I don’t think I overestimated his badness. Listen to the whole song and not just the chorus. You’ll see.” LeRoy Brown himself had no comment regarding the report.
Other interviews included in the study are with pimps, dealers, hustlers, prostitutes and other low life types that knew LeRoy from his days on the south side of Chicago. “Yeah, I knew that fool,” said Slick Conway, a local dice game runner. “I know that fool Jim Croce ain’t try to say that jive motherfucker was badder than King Kong. And meaner that a junkyard dog? I never even seen that motherfucker bite nobody.” Street walker Felicia Parker added, “He was kind of quiet. Kept to himself mostly. He did like having a finger jammed up his ass while getting his dick sucked.”
