as if hanging out with alfred matthew “weird al” yankovic wouldn’t be cool 365 days of the year , 6/25/09 was a special treat for those close to the 3 time grammy award winning artist. friends of weird al gathered thursday at his north hollywood home for a long night of partying the very day michael “ol’ bleach-face” jackson perished at ucla medical center. the star-studded event included actors seth green and craig ferguson, comedian/ufc personality joe rogan, icelandic songbird bjork and tennis great andy roddick among others, with rogan quoted as saying, “al was really on his shit tonight, what an entertainer!” yankovic reportedly did acoustic versions of his jacko parodies around a bonfire which included an improvised tune about baby-dangling. when asked about the appropriateness of the party in accordance to the untimely death of the king of pop, weird al stated,”my ‘fourth thursday of the month party’ wasn’t going to be ruined just because of today’s events” but did describe the death as, “a happy accident”.
